Canadian Amateur Golf

May 16, 2025

Get ready for an exciting tee-off as the 4th Annual BC WOMEN’S OPEN lights up Whistler’s Nicklaus North Golf Course June 5-7, 2025, launching the 2025 edition of Golf Canada’s SHE PLAYS GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES! This signature event is the first of three showstoppers in a high-stakes summer lineup, followed by the Peloton Glencoe Invitational in Calgary (June 12–14) and capped off by the PGA Women’s Championship of Canada in Burlington, Ont. (July 7–10).

At the heart of the She Plays Golf program is a $60,000 CAD championship series, where each 54-hole tournament features a competitive field of 60 top professionals and elite amateurs. The stakes? Massive. Each event winner scores a direct exemption into the 2025 CPKC Women’s Open, Canada’s most prestigious women’s golf event, happening August 20–24 at Mississauga Golf and Country Club.

Two Championships, One Incredible Experience

The BC Women’s Open offers something truly unique with two distinct championship formats:

  • 54-Hole Championship for Professionals & Elite Amateurs (4.0 index or less, Golf Canada sanctioned)

  • 36-Hole Competition for Senior Golfers (55+) and Flighted Amateurs (4.1 to 26.0 index)

No matter your level, there’s a place for you to compete, improve—and have a blast doing it. Registration closes May 26, 2025, so don’t miss your shot!

Looking Back: 2024 Winners Made Headlines

Last year saw the rise of two standout champions:

  • Ellie Szeryk (London, Ont.) delivered a masterclass performance, leading wire-to-wire in the 54-hole pro division. She took home $15,000 and earned a spot in the LPGA’s CPKC Women’s Open at Calgary’s Earl Grey Golf Club.

  • Ha Young Chang (Hazelmere Golf Club, Surrey, BC) captured the 36-hole amateur title with a two-stroke victory, proving once again that the BC Women’s Open is where tomorrow’s stars shine today.

Value-Packed, Player-Focused

Both tournament options offer fantastic value:

  • 54-Hole Championship ($450 + GST)

Includes a FREE practice round, $200 in welcome gifts, and a $50 food & beverage voucher. Nicklaus North green fees alone are typically $215—this is a steal! Billeting is also available for all 54-hole participants.

  • 36-Hole Competition ($395 + GST)

Perfect for senior golfers and flighted amateurs, this event includes a FREE practice round, $200 in welcome gifts, prizes for each flight, and a $50 food & beverage voucher. It’s a relaxed but competitive way to experience top-tier tournament golf.
